President Green: Guided by Mission, Inspired by People

For nearly 13 years, Accessia Health President Tiara Green has helped guide the organization through growth, change, and an evolving healthcare landscape—all while staying rooted in the mission of supporting individuals and families facing rare and chronic conditions. From her early days managing patient programs to now leading the organization as President, her journey has been shaped by the people at the heart of the work and the stories that continue to inspire it.

You’ve been part of Accessia Health for nearly 13 years and have grown into the role of President.Tiara Green Headshot | Accessia Health Looking back, what first drew you to this work, and how has your journey here shaped the way you lead today?

What first drew me to this work nearly 13 years ago is the very thing that continues to keep me here today: the people we serve.

Before joining Accessia Health, I had the privilege of working in roles that contributed to system-level changes in areas like sickle cell, diabetes, heart disease, and exercise as medicine. Those experiences were meaningful, but they felt a step removed from the individuals at the center of the work. What I found here was different. Here, the impact is immediate and personal.

I began my journey as a Program Manager, overseeing the administration of our patient programs. Over time, I grew within the Patient Services department and across the organization, taking on new responsibilities and challenges. Along the way, I had the opportunity to improve operational processes, build efficiencies, and, most importantly, connect directly with the people we support every day.

Those conversations have stayed with me. They continue to shape how I see our mission and how I approach leadership. Today, as President, I lead with those voices in mind, grounded in empathy, guided by experience, and committed to ensuring that every decision we make reflects the care and urgency our patients deserve.

Over the years, you’ve seen the organization evolve in meaningful ways. Is there a moment or experience that stands out to you as a reminder of why this work matters?

There are so many moments that stay with me, each one a quiet reminder of why this work matters. But the ones I carry closest are the stories from patients and families who share that because of the support they received, they were able to see a loved one graduate, walk down the aisle or simply keep living. To know that we can help make those moments possible is moving – it brings tears to my eyes. And it is what keeps me going, every single day, because they deserve more life and to live it abundantly.

For those who may not know you well, how would you describe what motivates you each day, both personally and professionally?

Personally, my family is what motivates me every day. I’m a mom of two boys, and I know they are watching my every move. I want to show them what it looks like to make a positive impact and leave our imprint on the world. Professionally, I keep in mind that the work that I do goes beyond me – it’s for greater good.

I would have to say continuing to move the mission forward. More than 35 years ago, our founder set out to lift the burden and serve as a safety net for those with chronic conditions. And that purpose still guides everything we do today.

A lot goes into making that mission real, from intentional strategy to operational efficiency and the right technology to serve people. What’s most fulfilling for me is having the opportunity each day to work alongside an incredible team to bring all of that to life. Because at the end of the day, this isn’t just about plans or processes; it is all about people – real people. Our work is life saving for someone.

Our mission centers on helping individuals and families navigate the challenges of accessing care. Why is this mission one that you hold so deeply, and how has it shaped your perspective?

Many of us have had our fair share of experiences navigating the healthcare system, and for me, that experience is personal. Living with my own health conditions, I’ve seen firsthand how challenging it can be to access care and understand the system. Over time, I have been able to build understanding of how it works, which has helped me advocate for myself. That is not something that everyone has, it’s a big part of why the mission matters so much to me. I want to help ensure that others feel empowered and informed so they can access the care they need and deserve.

Outside of the office, what are some of the things that bring you joy or help you stay grounded?

Oh, this is an easy question for me. To know me is to know that I am grounded in faith. It centers me and keeps me steady. Beyond that, I love to travel and spend time with my family. Those moments help me recharge, stay present, and keep everything in perspective. It is a balancing act and requirement to keep going.

Every role comes with its challenges. What is one challenge you’ve faced in your journey here, and how has it shaped your leadership and perspective?Ashley Lee and Tiara Green smiling as they volunteering at Mercy Mall VA in December of 2025

Challenges are a natural part of meaningful work. One that has stayed with me throughout my journey is the constant question of how we can reach and help more people, and inevitably, how can we do it faster.

It is something I think about often, and at times (truthfully), it does keep me up at night. But it has also shaped me in important ways. It has made me a more intentional and compassionate leader, always keeping the needs of those we serve at the center of every decision.

Our donors play such an important role in making this work possible. What would you want them to know about the impact of their support and the difference they are helping to make?

You. Make. A. Difference. Every dollar that you give brings someone hope. It gives someone a moment of relief from worry. And a chance to focus on their treatment and healing journey instead of the financial burden that comes with it. Your support has the power to change a life, and we are deeply grateful for it every single day.
