Living with Alpha-1

Harold Phillips spent 23 years working in coal mining, where long-term exposure to coal and silica dust is a known health risk. Today, he lives with a disability caused by that exposure. His Alpha-1 diagnosis story is a clear example of the serious impact this work can have on miners’ health over time.

M3P Program: Prescription Access

Managing a rare and chronic disease often comes with prescriptions and high costs—and for too many those costs can be a barrier to their quality of life.

In our newest Partner Blog, Laura Cave, editor at large at Paytient, covers the ways that the M3P Medicare program can help manage prescription costs.

For patients like Doug, Accessia Health is more than support. It’s a lifeline to disease management that all should be afforded. Having a chronic health condition shouldn’t mean choosing between your health and your finances.

Recent reviews, like Doug’s, on our GreatNonprofits page are helping us achieve the 2025 Great Nonprofit badge! It takes just 3 minutes to write a review that elevates the importance of our work in the nonprofit space.
