September 2025 Newsletter

Closing out September, I’m reflecting on the incredible momentum we’ve built together this month. We’ve had the privilege of joining national conversations around health equity, patient advocacy, and the future of healthcare access across a few conferences. While these events offered valuable insights and strategies, what stayed with me most were the stories we heard—stories of resilience, courage, and hope that remind us why this work matters.

We’ve published new stories and resources that I encourage you to explore, including a thoughtful piece on building trust without bias, a powerful patient testimony reminding us that behind every diagnosis is a person whose life and purpose extend far beyond their condition, and even a new tool for our patient advocates that provides practical tips and resources for navigating the unexpected challenges that patients and caregivers often face, from delayed medications to sudden financial strain.

If you have three minutes, please help us highlight the impact of our programs by leaving a review on GreatNonprofits. Your words not only inspire others but also help ensure more patients and caregivers find the support they need.

Finally, we are still accepting applicants to serve on our Medical Advisory Council (MAC). We welcome physicians, healthcare professionals, and academic leaders who are passionate about shaping the future of treatment access and contributing their expertise to a national nonprofit dedicated to health equity. Apply today!

We’re so grateful to have you a part of our journey and service. Together, we are building a future where healthcare is not defined by barriers, but by connection, compassion, and access for all.

Our team has been on the road this month exhibiting and presenting at conferences that allowed us to gather valuable strategies and hands-on experience to guide not only how we approach the changing landscape of healthcare and health equity, but also how we lead with intention to best serve our patients, providers, and partners throughout our work.

In addition to our sessions at the Healthcare Advocate SummitJennifer Noonan, Vice President of Clinical Strategy and Patient Engagement, took to our sponsored Podcast Booth to talk key conference takeaways, how barriers to healthcare education and literacy shape our mission of service at Accessia Health, our patient program model, and how one can practice listening over assuming in an already overwhelmed healthcare system.

Accessia Health is accepting applications for our Medical Advisory Council (MAC). This council serves as a cornerstone in advancing our mission of equitable access to care for those living with rare and chronic conditions.

MAC members bring invaluable expertise—offering medical guidance and perspective to our Board of Directors, ensuring our programs remain innovative, relevant, and deeply rooted in patient-centered care.

We welcome applications from physicians, healthcare professionals, and academic leaders who are eager to shape the future of treatment access and lend their voices to a national nonprofit dedicated to health equity.

Amplify Your Voice, Control Your Care: Patient Advocate Resource Guide

Medication delays, unexpected bills, or denied prescriptions can send patients into crisis.

These moments often happen without warning and can leave beneficiaries and caregivers confused, frustrated, and scared about losing access to critical treatment.

This handout highlights essential tools, tips, and resources to help you navigate healthcare challenges and better serve the patient community.

We recently published a blog outlining key information to keep in mind when thinking about how prescription drug coverage is determined through cost and supply. Now, you can watch the YouTube video that walks you through how insurance covers prescription drugs, what medication tiers mean, and how different routes of administration (oral, IV, topical, and more) can affect your out-of-pocket costs.

Help Us Highlight Accessia Health

Your experience with our organization matters—and it can inspire others. By leaving a review on GreatNonprofits to help us get this year’s Top Rated Badge, you’re spreading the word about the impact of our programs and services guiding patients and families who may be searching for support. It only takes a few minutes, but your words can make a lasting difference.

Your Story Matters

At Accessia Health, the stories of our patients and caregivers bring our mission to life.

Sharing your healthcare journey is a powerful way to encourage others, highlight the impact of patient support programs, and remind those in need that help is possible. We’d love to hear from you!
