Accessia Health Opens Financial Assistance Program For Individuals With Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, a Rare Blood Disorder

Midlothian, Va. (August 19, 2024) – Accessia Health, a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) patient assistance organization, is now offering financial assistance to those living with thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). Through the TTP Patient Program, eligible individuals can use their funding for medication copays, health insurance premiums, travel costs, and other related medical expenses.

TTP is a rare, life-threatening disorder that causes blood clots to form in small blood vessels throughout the body. These clots can limit or block vessels and restrict blood flow to organs such as the brain, kidneys, and heart. Plasma exchanges are a common form of treatment for those living with TTP. Without treatment, the blockages caused by TTP can lead to larger complications such as a stroke or brain damage. However, by promoting early treatment, it is possible to improve long-term outcomes for those with TTP.

The cost of obtaining care is often the barrier people face in getting the treatment they need, and this funding will help to improve access to overall care for those who would otherwise go without. Accessia Health’s patient assistance programs are designed to support those living with a rare or chronic health condition and alleviate some of the stress that may come with medical expenses.

“Our aim is to ensure that people are able to get the healthcare resources and support needed, despite financial constraints or other barriers,” said Tiara Green, president of Accessia Health. “Accessia Health is proud to offer support to those living with TTP, ensuring they can obtain the medical care and treatments needed to manage their rare or chronic health condition.”

Accessia Health’s financial assistance programs are available to eligible individuals who are living with a rare or chronic health condition. Program space is limited and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Patient Programs will only remain open as long as funding is available.
